He looked up to where she sat. The sight of the tears weren't all too moving to Darien. But, he did feel bad. No matter who they were, no one deserved to go through pain. Even though he wasn't too happy with her, Darien couldn't just let her be. She obviously needed someone right now. It was up to Darien to be that person. It wasn't like him, but what did he care? It's not like he had a group of friends who expected him to be a certain way. He was alone. By himself. That wasn't a great thought...
Darien sighed a little, finally feeling slightly bad. He walked up to her chair and stood in front of her. His blue eyes stared down at the top of her head. The strawberry blond roots were quite lovely....Darien shook his head quickly. It was not like him to think about the beauty of a girl. he slapped this thought away and sighed again.
Reaching his arms down, he put them under her hers, linked them behind her back, hugging her in a way, and picked her up into a standing position. He shifted his hands so that they were on her shoulders supporting her in case she was going to fall over. With his right hand he wiped away the tears from her left eye.
"Why are you crying?" Darien's tone was actually soft for once. It even came to himself as a shock.

Serena wasn't sure what she was more shocked over... the sensetive way he was touching her or the utter softness of his voice. Right then at that very moment there were fireworks for Serena. She couldn't believe she was slowly falling in love with a stranger who's name she didn't even know. But she knew it would be something beautiful and artistic.
The tears were long gone at that point. Serena was lost for words and her palms were moist with nervous sweat. She could smell his kind and welcoming scent from where she stood. Everything felt so right. Serena leaned in and layed a kiss on his fine lips.

If Darien's heart could beat any faster it'd break through his ribs. The sudden extreme thumping of his heart practically caused it to fail. What was going on? He was so in shock that he couldn't even gather up a correct thought. It was like everything around him went blank. There was nothing in the world but him and pure darkness. The emotion traveling within his vein's was very strange and he was unable to grasp the feeling.
As much as he hated admitting it to himself, it was his first kiss. Darien thought he was going to be alone forever. Just him. his chemicals, and the wonderful experience of counting. Something as simple as a kiss never crossed his mind once. Now that he had his first kiss under his belt, what else was going to happen? Hopefully he'd be able to keep his belt on for as long as possible...
Despite the fact that he had no conscious control, he did the unthinkable. It was unthinkable to him. To any other normal boy it would be like second nature. But to him it was foreign. He kissed her back. His hands just rested on her shoulders, not really sure of where else to put them.
After another few moments he broke away. Darien sort of forgot that he had to breathe, and was trying to get air into his lungs without it seeming obvious. It was also a good thing the auditorium was dark; his face was as red as a tomato.
"What was that for?" Darien's tone wasn't mean; more confused. There was also that little hint of joy in it which was hopfully masked by the confusion.

Serena had not expected him to accept the kiss. When they parted she found herself breathing heavily from the intensity and not to mention the lack of air. It was perfect, just like a fairytale. Darien made her feel like she could be anything she wanted to be, unlike Gavin who made her feel more like a prisoner.
What was that for?
She smiled some more at his comment. It was not a smirk like she would have normally given him, but a true smile full of love. Serena couldn't find a way to explain it. He didn't sound angry and she supposed her would have enjoyed it, but she still didn't want to ruin it all.
"I don't know... I guess I like you." she said as she placed her arms around his waist and layed her head against his chest.

"Uhh...you what?" Darien asked nervously. Having her tell him that was not exactly something he had expected. It was also something he wished he didn't hear as he didn't want to disappoint her.
He didn't know what to do. "Listen..." It was bad enough he didn't know her name, "I can't really say the same," Darien sighed, but caught himself, "yet."
Hopefully she wouldn't take it badly. But Darien couldn't lie to her, that would be much worse. He put his hands on her wrists and took her arms off of him. Quickly Darien walked away a little and turned her back on him. He was silently looking at the floor, hoping that it would have all the answers. Unfortunately he had to figure this one out on his own.
"I, I don't want to hurt you or anything...but I don't know you. I mean, it's not like there's no hope for the future because if I get to know you then I could like you but not now, I'm just not ready yet and don't get me wrong you are-" He was rambling. All the words he was saying were a bit muffled as he was staring at the floor and turned completely away from her. This was one of those situations Darien hated, but at the same time didn't want to say the wrong thing which usually happened anyway. But she didn't seem dumb, so Darien had some hope in her.

Serena felt her heart in her throat. How could she have been so silly? She didn't even know his name for starters. But Serena had sensed something strong between them and she knew it. It was as if they had met before. Look what you've done... now he probably hates you.
Before she knew it Serena was forcing the tears in her eyes not to flow downwards. She was succesful, but she still was obviously troubled. As she heard his next few words it gave her a little hope. Serena would do all she could to make him like her.
"No, don't worry about it... I understand." she said choking down her sorrow. She turned away and felt the warmth of tears flowing down her pale face.
Then she started to head for the door. Before she left she said, "My name's Serena by the way... what's yours?"

Luckily he was good at quickly thinking on his feet. The bad thing was that he was horrible when it came to liking girls, or anyone for that matter. He had to push that thought away just for a moment so he could hopefully grab her attention again.
"Wait!" He shouted, running up the aisle a little, "Uhh...my name's Darien...but where are you going?"
It wasn't that he wanted to stay and chat for five hours, but he didn't want to leave in such a state. He needed to talk to her. If she left now, they'd probably never see each other again. Well they would, but they'd probably never speak to each other. That thought didn't make Darien sad, but if they've got this far than it was only right to at least try and get to know her. Who knew? Maybe something good would come out of it.

Serena was suprised to hear his warm voice echo through the auditorium. Wiping away the last of her tears she turned to face him once more. He looked utterly distraught as though he didn't want to end on such a bad note. She felt the same way, but she wasn't sure how long she would be able to control her whirlwind of emotions.
"I don't know... Look Darien I understand don't worry." she said as she started making her way back down the carpeted aisle.
This would be goodbye for the time being, but she certainly planned on seeing him again very soon. She began to take a piece of paper out of her pocket and put down her full name a cell number. Serena took his hand and enclosed it with the paper within.
"Meet me tommorow at the coffee shop. 3 o'clock." she said with one last smile.
Serena left the auditorium happier than she had ever been in her life.
