history_
He was born into a loving household that seemed to go all wrong. His mother was a small petite woman with big dreams - his father was a large man with small goals. While she was determind, he was lazy - while she was intelligent, he was dumb. It's still a mystery why she would choose to marry "the oaf" as Jack and his grandfather call him. And yet the love seemed to be there for a short while, until Jack turned three and was able to process the harsh words that were growing angrier with every passing month. He was simply terrified of his father, who didn't try to hide his dislike for his young son. His grandfather later said that it was because of how much he looked like his mother. Whilist Jack would sit for hours listening to his mother's past adventures and future hopes, wide blue eyes bright with interest, he would run whenever his father came through the door. This seemed to infuriate the fat man. He began to verbally abuse Jack, and when he was older, physically abuse him. This sent the young boy sneaking away out his window and to his grandfather's farm, which was across the street.
Here, he found solace and love from Granny and Grandpa, plus their many animals. Cats, dogs, and horses all adorned the small red barn. The horses fascinated him the most. He grew a bond with them and began to ride, coached by his grandfather, who had a natural touch with the four-footed creatures. It became apparent that Jack had enherited the same trait. He became an accomplished rider and spent all his time at the little barn, even doing his homework there to escape the terror at home. It worsened horribly as he turned into his teen years, and finally his step-dad left one day, storming out into the night. This wasn't the first time he had done it, and so the boy and his mother waited at home for him. He never came home. A few weeks later, with much regret his mother announced she, too, was leaving, to presue those adventures that she had always wanted to do. He begged for her to let him live at grandpa's, but she shook it off and sent him here instead. Lonely and still friendless, he turns into his third year at the acadamy, hoping for it to be a better one then those previously.

gen.personality_
He was never the one to get angry. His mother had a horrible temper and his father an even worse one, but he enherited his calm nature from his grandfather. It helped him keep his head during times when the pair would scream and throw things at eachother. Instead if infuriating him, it just made him sad - a feeling that has been with him his whole life. And although his is not depressed, one could not say that he is happy, either. To try and keep his parents together he did very well in school, and to this day he is the straight A student, never slacking off, never getting lazy. Naturally brilliant, he can keep a good conversation going and, as his mother says proudly, bound for Harvard. Even though he has no desire to go to that prestigious college, Jack keeps quiet about it, for he isn't one to express his thoughts or feelings. Terribly timid and shy, he keeps to himself and works alone, enjoying the rare company of another person but not having enough social skills to tell them so. If anyone bothered to find more about him they'd see that he was a perfect friend - understanding and good-natured and with a big heart that he wears on his sleeve. For this, his is rather sensitive, but he doesn't really show it. His wide blue eyes are always full of emotion and although he is small, he has big dreams and loves the sky.
"The sky is so big."
"Big doesn't really cover it, right? The word big is so small."
He loves soft music like Death Cab for Cutie and indie movies like Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless mind. In his mind is a whirring of ideas, and he loves to oil paint, his favorite subjects being the very animals that he used to dote so much time on back at Grandpa's little red barn. Horses. He has a real talent for painting and also singing - his voice is just like his attitude, calming and quiet, and a little distant, as if he isn't all there. But then again, he always seems to be thinking about something far away. He doesn't really enjoy drinking or drugs, having tried both of them in a fit on insanity after his mother left, and he stands out like a sore thumb in parties. He spends most of his weekends wandering around alone, or painting. But his lack of social activity doesn't bother him.
