Get it shawty, get it shawty, get it shawty, get it; uh uh oh, sang Jasmine as she played with her food. She wasn't that hungry today, but she bought lunch anyways. Jasmine spun her fork in her hand as she continued to sing. Her eyes travelled from her repulsive looking heap of food, which used to be chicken fried rice and pasta with peas, to the other groups of people sitting around. Of course they were all sitting with their rightful cliques. But Jasmine, on the other hand, was just a loner sitting at an empty table.
Jasmine dropped her fork and pushed her plate away. She titled her chair back and but her feet on the table. Jasmine reached into her pocket and took out her green iPod nano. Her thumb automatically spun to the song "They Way I Are" by Timbaland. It was the song she always started off with. Jasmine slid her nano back into her pocket and put her headphones on. She slowly closed her eyes, relaxed and hummed along.
Oh, baby, it's alright now, you ain't gotta flaunt for me If we go dutch, you can still touch my love, it's free We can work without the perks just you and me Thug it out 'til we get it right.

Camryn stood in the long line of people that wrapped around tables and lead outside. He was one of the lucky ones because his turn was about to be next. Looking at the food his stomach twisted and he wondered why they wanted him to eat that. It was wrong and very repulsive. Glancing around he saw that almost no one was touching their food and he did not blame them one bit. As the lady screeched at him to order his food he was startled. Jumping a little bit his finger randomly pointed to something. The lady slopped it all on the plate and slid it over to him through the little area. Taking his food he paid and looked around the café with a sigh he pointed out the different groups. Seeing a girl sitting a long and seemed like she was talking to herself. It was not like he had to make conversation.
His dark skin and his poofy curly hair was a key look. It was rare that you saw someone such has him. He looked well different from the rest. Of course he was different he was labeled a geek. The only ones lower then him were the wanna be’s but it was not like he was treated better. People still picked on him or coughed harsh things when he walked by. It was very rare that he was given a compliment though he had been told that his body did not look like one a geek would have. It was true the first look at him and you would think that he was a gangster or someone that didn’t care about school. Camryn excelled in all of his subjects and loved to be at school and learn all things. At least he was making the stereotype changed. Most people thought that they were really high pants, had thick glasses, and always had a calculator. Nope that was not Camryn at all. Wearing a long black shirt and regular blue jeans he walked over to the table he was looking at earlier.
Sitting his plate down him gave a quick glance in the girl’s direction before returning it to his food. Just starring at the blob of something on his plate and he knew he would throw up. This boy was not one to talk to others and was very shy around girl. Putting his mind on something else he tried to think that he did have friends. It was hard sometimes to face reality. Camryn had no friends and everyone used him to do their homework or for him to tell them the answers. It was a depressing and lonely life that he lead and every day he had to face it. Sighing softly to himself his eyes looked around the area, or at the tables. They were wall separated. But the only thing they had in common was that everyone was talking and having fun.

Jasmine continued to relax with her feet propped up on the table. Suddenly she felt the table vibrate as if someone had sat down. She opened her right eye to check what happened. A boy had apparently sat down at the table. Jasmine opened her other eye and plucked off her headphones. The boy seemed familiar, as if she had seen him in a class or something of that sort. She looked at him for a moment, realizing that he was definitely not part of her "clique". Jasmine swung her feet, which were clad in white baby phat shoes, down off the table. She leaned on the table and sighed. "Hey. I'm Jasmine. What's your name?" she asked him nicely, a small smile appearing on her face.
She knew that he might: A) not give a damn and ignore her, or B) make conversation. Either of the two worked for her. But personally, she wanted b). Jasmine turned her attention to his hair. She loved that kind of hair, her father had had that sort of hair. Her mind fashed to an image of her father, but she snapped back to reality. Jasmine blew a piece of stray black hair that had fallen out of her ponytail. She glanced over at each table. The unlabelled table, popular table and the wannabe's table were the closest one's to her. The populars were smiling, giggling and the like, the unlabelled's were just talking and the wannabe's seemed to be staring at other tables, just like she was.
On her first day of school, she had wandered over to numerous groups. Jasmine ended hanging out with the gangsters for awhile and she was labelled as one of them. It was a suprise to her at first, everything being about cliques. But then she remembered middle school, where everything was about gangs. This was exactly like that, except less violent.

Camryn was quite surprised when the girl immediately started acknowledging him, is was usually a while before they even said hey, but this girl was very outgoing. Giving a small smile to the girl, just to show that he was friendly, he gave a nod as she spoke to him. It was very odd that he was spoken to so he listened very well. Every now and then he would be able to say something but must of the time he just listened. He begins to stare aimlessly around his eyes soon found their way back to the girl sitting in front of him.
Nodding again just so that she knew he was paying attention because that was the very last thing he wanted. So her name was Jasmine. It was a very pretty name and fit her look. "Hey. Im Camryn" His voice was almost like a whisper because he was not very outgoing. The girl was pretty but of course looks didn’t count for everything. Camryn wanted to know how her attitude was and personality. She could be the type that would just leave whenever her friends came, or, was she they type of girl that really did not care about cliques. That was something he liked about people when they did not care about what clique they were put in. Camryn was simply put into the geeks because he was smart and quite. It just seems that you have to be loud and dumb to get anywhere else in the school. A smile was still on his face as his eyes searched hers. He was trying to pick up any little thing that he could that would at least give him a hint.

Jasmine smiled as he nodded while she talked. She was pretty sure his name was Camryn, which suited him very much so, and that he was in a few of her classes. Her brown eyes glistened as his eyes searched them. Jasmine looked back down at her food. Her smile was replaced with a cringe of disgust. “Will you excuse me for a moment, please?” she asked him in a rhetoric tone. Jasmine stood up, grabbed her tray and walked to the nearest garbage can. She looked down into the garbage can for a second and saw other people’s meals already in there. Her food joined them in there.
Jasmine came back to the table were Camryn was sitting. She sat herself down and put her elbows on the table. “Sorry about that. I just couldn’t stand to look at it anymore.” She apologized. “Anyways, what 'Clique' are you in? Popular, I suspect. Like a jock or something?”. She put a big emphasis on the clique. He seemed to have the build that a basketball or football player might have.
Her lipgloss painted lips yawned quietly while he answered. She had not gotten enough sleep last night. Her cousin, Jessica, had had a sleepover last night, which most of the popular girls came to. With their rooms being right next to each other, she could hear every single giggle, every single insult about people and every single lie about Jasmine that Jessica had told them all. Who thought popular people could be so loud?

Camryn could not help but admire the girls face. It looked like a porcelain dolls, how smooth and natural it looked. Catching himself in the gaze he quickly looked some where else. He certainly didn’t want to freak the girl out already. As her eyes feel to her food she excused herself from the table. Not a word came from him as he wondered if she would come back to the table or just leave the cafeteria all together. Either choice would be fine by him because he was used to people ditching him. Camryn’s eyes followed her as she dumped the plate of food into the trash. Looking down to his own food he knew why no one ate it. Pushing it away from him a little bit he would toss it out when he, or they, left.
Hearing her apologize he couldn’t understand why she did. There was nothing to be sorry about for he would not get mad just because she left. Smiling he was relived that she had come back to the table and begin to talking to him again. As she addressed him with a question of which clique he belonged to his smile sort of went away. Most people found it hard to believe but when they did they rarely looked at him again. “Well I was placed with the ‘geeks’.” Still his words were quite but not mumbled. Glancing down at the table then back up to the beautiful girl in front of him he awaited a reaction.
“My I ask what clique they have placed you in?” Stressing the word they he was talking about the student body. People were placed in different groups when people started talking. Soon everyone was talking about it and bam you were now in a clique. Of course brains, clothes, and build was a part of it but the students were the main part. Spotting that she was yawning Camryn begin to yawn also. As they say yawns are contagious.

Jasmine nodded as Camryn told her that he was placed in the ‘geek’ clique. She smiled at him again, she just couldn’t help herself. He seemed sweet and was a good listener. “They placed me in the ‘gangster’ clique. But that’s just because I’m in a gang, so I guess they thought it was best for me.” She replied.
Sometimes whenever she met girls or guys from another clique and told them this, they would walk off muttering something like: “What a ghetto piece of cr*p.” or they would run over to their friends and be like “Oh my gosh, I just talked to somebody that was part of a gang!”. They talked to her like she was some Neanderthal sometimes, which she hated.
Camryn didn’t seem like the type who was from a geek clique. But, she could care less. He was nice and that was that’s all that matter. She fiddled with her sweater sleeve and thought to herself.
How could he not care about cliques? Mostly everyone except her did.

Camryn studied the girl some more and was somewhat entranced by her. She seemed like a nice girl that had a defense wall built. He could tell right off the bat that she would be with a group that held a rough exterior but inside they were caring and nice. As she spoke of her clique and being put in with the gangsters he gave a smile. Yes Camryn was right about his hypothesis he could just tell some things about people.
“Yeah. I am considered a geek simply because I am smart. It’s a shame that I have to leave with a curse. But I really don’t care because I know that I will be able to get a good job and have a lot of money one day” Now that he felt a little more comfortable with this girl his voice was a little deep. Thinking back about what he said quickly he regretted it. Did it make him seem like a poser or someone that was weird? He had never really gone off like that about anything. To be quite honest it was the first time he had spoke that much to anyone that he had just met. It took him weeks before he would say two sentences to someone!
Camryn really didn’t care that she was in a gang. It didn’t have the big of an effect on him. He knew that he could make his own decisions and he did not hold hers against her. Camryn on the other hand would never be wrapped up in anything like that. He knew that his path did not need any thing such as that. Then again he was not going to sit here and give her a lesson on what choices she has made in life. A smile was kept on his face as watched her mess with her sleeve.

Jasmine nodded as Camryn spoke. She smiled at him again without taking notice. “Well, I agree with you. You will be the one making more money than almost everybody in the school. If I had had it my way, I would have loved to get good grades and be placed in the geek clique. Sure you get picked on and ignored, but I get that in my own clique too. Everybody treats me like a ghetto ass girl who can’t spell the word rainbow.” She said her anger for the people she was talking about rising in each word. Her smile was gone; it had been replaced with a look of disgust for those people. Jasmine sighed and calmed down. “I just wished I would have had the opportunities that you have.”
Jasmine fell silent for a second and just breathed. “Anyways,” she said putting on a smile. “Are you in my math class?” She was pretty sure he was, but she had never taken too much notice to the others in her math class. Mainly because she was sleeping all the time in it. Jasmine asked him this simply because she wondered that, if he wanted to, he could possibly tutor her in it. She hoped that it was the answer was yes, because she really needed it. Also he was pretty cute. ( xD )
