Monday.
Ashton hated Mondays. They never seemed to work for her. Everything always went wrong, not matter what. Today was no exception. It had all started this morning when she woke up half an hour late. Her alarm hadn't gone off. Scrambling out of bed, she threw on the closest thing to her, which happened to be a pair of old blue jeans and a long sleeve Decendents shirt. She made a quick dart into the bathroom where she ran a brush through her hair quickly, wincing as she pulled through the knots and routinly put on her dark eye make up. She grabbed her bag and ran out the door, knowing she would be late to her first class.
Sure enough, when she reached the doorway of her English class, everyone turned to look at her. She smiled, embaressed, and blushed as she snaked her way through the rows of desks and took her normal seat in the back row. When everyone had settled, the teacher informed the class that they would be having a pop quiz on one of Shakespeare's sonnets. Ashton felt her stomach drop. She hadn't read the assigned sonnets last night. As the teacher walked around, handing out the crisp white sheets of paper, Ashton wished that she hadn't gone out with her friends last night. Finally, the teacher reached her and handed her the paper. Staring down at it, Ashton realized that she was going to fail. That wasn't even the half of it. The day went on to get worse and worse.
Finally, it was time for her free period. She was so greatful that she had taken those AP classes last year and was graced with a free period this year. There was no question in her mind of where she would go to spend this 90 minutes of free time. She needed somewhere to clear her head and calm down. So, she went to her favorite place off campus. The park. She loved it there. Expecially this time of year. The trees had begun turning colors and sheading their leaves. The colors along with the crisp air made her smile. As she walked through the park, her iPod in her pocket and ear buds securly in her ears, she took several deep breaths, enjoying the smell of Fall. It was exactly what she needed today.

Lily, what are we going to do with you? You're head over heels for a guy that might not even like you, you're so called friend is pissed because you told her having a guy in your life isn't all that matters, and now she was alone. She had no one to talk to. But that little get away to the spa the other day was just what she needed. She got away for a few hours, got more high lights, a mani/peti and ever went shopping. Her day was the best. But now that school had stared up again, all she could think of doing was walking through the park, now that she had the rest of the day off. She was always the smart one in the popular clique, but that never bugged her. It always seemed to be a come on to all the guys in her clique. They came to her for advice on homework and such. She was a real life saver for them. When she came out of her advanced biology class she walked down the hall and to her locker. Sliding her book into the semi empty space, she grabbed her purse and left the school halls. Without looking back. Her mind was set on the peaceful area of the city park. The only place she truly felt alive. Her tote bag was mostly empty except for her makeup bag and other little things she swore up and down she needed, but rarely used. To her surprise she noticed someone else, about her age, maybe tiny bit older then her in the park also. That's a shock. Usually there is no one here. They usually have to go to class or spend their free period at the mall or something, like she did last year. They seemed to be alone. No one else was in the park, but Lily isn't really in the mood to talk to anyone. Isn't that a shock?

Ashton sighed deeply as her iPod shuffled to a song that she loved dearly. She swayed back and forth to the gentle melody of it. Music is Ashton's life. When she listened to her music, she could escape from the world. She didn't know why, but even the most upbeat, fast songs could calm her. Also, there seemed to be a song for every emotion that she had, which was a lot. Sometimes it seemed that the artist of certain songs knew exactly what she was thinking and feeling. As if the song were written for her, about her. There were songs that made her smile, and songs that made her cry. But either way, she loved them.
As she walked down the asphalt path that winded through the park she did a little two-step and twirled around in a circle. Just as she finished her circle, she found her face to face with another person. Taken aback, Ashton let out a small gasp, as her mouth formed into a circle. She didn't expect anyone to be there. No one in their right mind would come to the park during their free period. Well, anyone except Ashton, but who's to say she was in her right mind? Getting over the shock, she pulled her ear buds from her ears. 'Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry' she said in an exasperated tone. She had almost run right into this girl. She smiled lightly to enhance her apology.

Lily laughed to herself as the girl gave into her music, it looked like she was just dancing there without a care, or music, but as soon as they were face to face Lily noticed her iPod. Well, Lily is a nice person, so we'll just act like we didn't see that. The beat from her ear phones settled into the atmosphere around them and Lily recognized the song. It was cherished by herself as well. She smiled at her and knew she was truly sorry, Lily is the same way, she hates to be embarrassed. It's okay. I completely understand. I get that way sometimes also. She smirked a little and pulled out her own iPod from her purse. Slowly putting it back she turned to her and didn't know what else to say.
A few moments of Silence is never fun. What if this girl was not like Lily at all? Well, if she is dancing in the middle of park with no care at all, she's another version of Lily. She held out her hand and gave a soft bow. I'm Lily Perinnes. A lot of people in the school knew who she was. She was barely sixteen years old and a junior. One of the youngest in her class. She held her hand there for a few more moments waiting for it to be shook. Then the meeting of her and her friend came into her mind. Erasing the image, the on of Leo came to her. She gave a loving sigh to herself and quickly came back to reality. Hoping the girl hadn't noticed.

Ashton felt the blood rush to her face after almost bumping into the girl. That is how she got with her music. It was like nothing else mattered. She let out a small sigh of relief as the girl said it was okay. A lot of the girls here would have gotten all bitchy with her. She thanked god that this one was diffrent. 'Yeah, music is life, ya know?' Ashton said with a smile. She looked down as the girl pulled out her own iPod. Ah, so she wasn't alone. Many people that she had run into said that iPods were overrated and that diffrent devices were better. In Ashton's world, iPod was king.
She smiled as the girl said her name was Lilly. 'I'm Ashton. Ashton Williams' she said reaching out and shaking the hand that was extended. She couldn't help but here a light sigh come from the girls mouth. As she glanced up, she noticed a loving look in Lilly's eyes. Ashton smiled. Lilly was in love. But with who? Ashton didn't know many people in her school, since she mostly kept to herself, so she probably wouldn't know the guy even if she asked, which would be rude. She watched as Lilly came back to Earth. 'So, what kind of music do you have on there?' She said smiling and nodding twords her purse where the iPod was safely stored.

The embarresed feeling rushed to Lily aswell. She hated it when she did that, it's like nothing else mattered. Nothing ever really did to her. When she gets in those moods she is in those moods, no questions or buts about it. Oh, Lil' Mama, Avril Lavigne, Lady Soverign. Things like that. She smalled and opened her purse again, pulling out the blue iPod again. She flipped through the songs and turned on the most played one of them all. "Girlfriend Remix with Avril and Lil' Mama." She started dancing to it softly. But anything else like it was usually not on there. This was the only Remix song she really liked. And it was kind of sad. Though she really liked to have a good time dancing to really loud music such as this.

[[OCC: Sorry it took me so long! My internet was down for like, 2 days!!!]]
Ashton couldn't help but smile when she said something about Avril Lavigne and Lil' Mama. She hated that song. It made Avril seem so concited and like a complete bitch. But, hey, maybe that was what she was going for. She would be the first to admit that Avril had SOME good songs. Most of them had a good point to them. The girl really couldn't sing that well, but at least she tried. Ashton, herself, was more into the punk-y, pop-y rock. People often laughed at her when she would jump around her dorm to Fall Out Boy. But she didn't care what they thought. She liked what she liked and no one could change that. She's stubborn like that. Though, she hated when others would criticize her music. She didn't go around criticizing theirs, so why should they to hers?
Ashton watched as Lily pulled out her iPod and flipped through the songs. Finally, she chose one. "Girlfriend" by Avril and Lil' Mama. It was the remix. The only thing she hated more than the actual song was the remix. Ashton hated remixes. She believed that they completely ruined a song. Scrunching up her face and stucking out her tongue, she attempted to scoff. 'I cannot stand that song!!!' She said after unscrunching her face. 'No offence' She said with a smile.
