history_
This blonde Aquarius first opened his greenish eyes in Japan, seeing as his mother worked there as a professional photographer. She’d just settled in there, and Lucian’s father had left them both once he found out she would be staying. Their stay, however, turned out to be anything but permanent. Julie got sick, and it did not help when the doctors could not find out what was wrong with her. It got worse still, and seeing no other option than to return to the US for a more throughout examination, they moved back to Connecticut. They had sold the house, but Greg had left them the beach house in Harvard. This would be the place where Lucian would spend the next years of his life, never having laid eyes upon his father.
The doctors, however, were unable to solve the mystery that was his mother’s illness. He’d just had his first day of school, returning home to the nanny that was now practically family after all the years they’d spent together while his mother had moved in to the hospital. She was, quite frankly, regarded as family in his eyes, and that was why he found it so hard to believe why she would lie to him about his mother. She had not died. She was not dead. That was impossible. She had a whole team of doctors around her every hour of the way, how could that be? Little Lucian refused to believe her until they went to see his mother only minutes later. She was sleeping, he thought. She’d wake up soon enough. He’d made so many new friends today, had been looking forward to tell her all about it. She would wake up soon enough.
Julie didn’t. The funeral took place the following Friday, and the child welfare center he had been sent to in town had allowed his nanny to take him, under observation, of course. She was the one taking care of the house for the time being, but a few days later, she called him at the center. She’d found someone interesting in buying it. Lucian had no family other than his disappeared father left in life, and the house, although paid for by Greg’s money, stood in Julie’s name still. It had passed on to Lucian, but what would a child do with a house he could not care for? The lawyers involved allowed Christie to sell it, on the condition that all the money went to a savings account of Lucian’s for later use. The beach house was sold only a few days later to the man that had contacted her.
Had she known that the car salesman that had called her had been the Greg, on the other hand, perhaps she would have had second thoughts. Christie was dismissed, and she was mailed her final paycheck signed Scofield. Greg visited the welfare center later that day, explaining to the personnel that he was indeed Lucian’s father. With the papers to prove it, they let him have Lucian, and back he was in their very own beach house. It did not take long before the little boy picked up on the fact that they shared a last name. Being seven, Greg could not hope for him to act rationally finding out his “foster dad’s” true identity, and he was right. Two days later and his son had still not come home from what he’d thought to be a childish runaway like kids always does when upset. The cops had no luck, but on the third day he found him himself lurking around the house.
Lucian had snuck in and slept in the equipment room at the school’s gym, eating whatever the local cafeteria saw fit to throw his way. It may have seemed like the Scofields got along well for the following years. The truth was, they didn’t. His father showed absolutely no sympathy concerning the subject of his late wife. As far as he knew, she had left him one time, a second time made no difference. Their relationship grew tense as he started snapping at Lucian for bringing her up, and the teenager started spending more time at basketball practice or at the court with the guys just playing. The more time he could spend away from home the better, and already around the age of fourteen, he drank, hang out late, acted like an ass and got thrown out of school. Greg had to plead the to let his son back in even though he hated him as much as the principal did.
He got back in, but turning seventeen, he dumped that year. With his father beginning to turn his back on him, he started looking for other options, loopholes that did not include living at home. He pulled himself together during that one year long search, figuring that even though he practically needed basketball just to breath, he could still do good elsewhere. He had managed to keep his part time job at the car dealership, and it turned out he did not need his fathers’ propped wallet to make it. The car he ended up buying was a wreck, but he knew that. That was why it was so cheap, mainly sold for parts, but he’s set on fixing it. Having saved up enough money, Lucian attended the local Banting University, finding it hard to cope with the work due to his past mistakes concerning school and education, or the lack of it.

His father, most authorities, being judged, the way he acts sometimes – or at least used to, being that person still, drugs, people who doesn’t trust him when he’s truly honest, people telling him how to do things, failing, brats, missing the final shot, losing a game.
beliefs_ Do you believe in God, Lucian? Is there a Heaven?
The ball player isn’t really sure where his beliefs are, what he believes in or what’s true. He may be described as a Christian, only that he’s not a serious one. He does not take his religion into consideration when dealing with choices, and if up to him, it’s rarely the theme of any conversation.
habits&quirks_
May add later. At the moment I can’t think of any that are relevant to his character.
gen.personality_
Lucian can be a real ass sometimes, not completely comprehending the effect of his words. This is only the surface of his sometimes selfish behavior, seeing as everything’s ok as long as he’s happy. This does, however, most often occur when with people he is not attached to. Strangers are so much easier to brush off like dust, and their reaction is of little concern seeing as he does not know them and that way it does not matter to him. With friends, on the other hand, he is more careful. A few years ago he did not care, but after having taken a little more than just one look in the mirror, he realized he was part of the problem. He is compassionate, and even the faintest hint of a smile without any trace of being fake is a sign that he does really care. It’s not that he’s shy. On the contrary, he’s very confident in whatever it is he does. It’s his pride that tends to reduce him to said poor behavior. That, and his anger towards his father, to prove he’s a better man than his old man will ever be.
He knows that did not get the best start he could hope for. He has screwed things up more than once, but it’s his will to change that drives him. He loves to have fun, something everyone can see, even those who does not know him. At seventeen he got a tattoo; the Chinese symbol for fun, branded on his right shoulder. He never backs down from a dare or whatever it might be, and usually he’s in it 100%. While sometimes he might not deserve to be trusted, he tries, but old ways are hard to change. He’s not used to being the guy people come to for help, but that does not mean he does not want to be that guy. Getting friends the way he acts at times isn’t easy, and it might cause people not to see the real him. He’s not the most humble person around, however, the word passion describes his every move. He does what he feels like, goes after what he wants, trusts his instincts and seeks the truth whether he knows it’s good or bad. Still, a little white lie is close enough to the truth when it’s his time to confess, something that shows compassion once again. Why tell people what might hurt them if the news can wait just a little while longer?
At least that’s what he believes. The thing is, this does not stop him mocking the people he dislikes, getting into a fight when ‘needed’, say things he will regret later when stressed or angry and feels superior to the people he does not know when in a bad mood. With that said, he is not moody. There are triggers, he’s just not sure what they are. His self control is limited, it’s his self insight that is more prominent. He knows who he is, he just doesn’t like that guy from time to time. Some might call him a bully, and his two sides can tend to confuse a few people. He’s friendly and rude at the same time, viewed as a good guy among the people that gives him a chance to befriend them and open up. As much as he would like blaming the way he acts every now and then on the father he grew up with against his will, he knows very well he could have chosen to be different, chosen to impress him instead of sinking to the level of messing up his own life to get back at him.
He’s the kind of guy that won’t take shit from anybody, and what people does to him is what they deserve in return, whether they were nice or bitchy. Lucian has a very strong personality, and he easily comes off the wrong way at first. He really is a gentle person, loving even, once you get to know him. He speaks his mind, and he’s not one bit afraid about making a fool out of himself. During the last year, however, some of his worst behavior is usually kept under control, and he has become a little less hot headed. Still, personalities are hard to alter, and Luke is no exception…

gen.description_
Basketball players tend to be extraordinary tall. This is, however, not the case with this certain male. Being of quite average height instead, Lucian is only slightly above 6’1. His hair is cut more or less short, blonde in colour. He never does much about it, and mainly it stays unruly yet styled-looking pretty much by itself, however, not all the time. Even basketball players have bad hair days. Blonde, somewhat messy eyebrows tops his greenish eyes, said orbs being full of emotion most of the time. Normally his complexion is more or less tanned all year round, but the winter takes its toll. However, he tans quickly, and the summer is his favourite season for more than one reason. While he generally sports no facial hair, some stubble has been allowed to grow right under his chin, adding to his sometimes smug first impression.
Being an athlete, so to say, playing basketball, does not mean one has to be on steroids. Quite frankly, Lucian is a balanced kind of skinny. He does have some more muscle tone than a few years ago, and what some people might call a six pack. Seeing as basketball became more and more serious to him, he simply had to put on some more muscle than he used to have. With that said, he’s not the football player kind of strong, but the athletic kind. Being the shooting guard makes him quick, enduring and he’s quite the jumper. Arm strength is required for being the team’s main (but not only) shooter. He’s often seen walking with his arms in his pockets, and hoodies a size too big for him is practically his trademark. Jeans, basketball-ish shorts and long sleeved shirts are also a common sight.
He has no large notable scars, burns or anything the likes, but his already mentioned tattoo is pretty visible, placed right at the middle of his right shoulder. It’s the Chinese symbol for fun, something this guy practically has made his life’s motto.

And oh, this is a character mainly designed for another site, so if it doesn't work out that he's a basketball player and that the school has no team, I'm perfectly fine with that. Just tell me and I'll rearrange some stuff.
